Inspiralized by Girl Chawn!

I would like to introduce to you my sweet friend Chawn Lambert!  This week you'll get to know lots of fun stuff about her.  She and I go way back and I was even in her wedding!!!  Yep, she's that kind of friend!  Fun,  beautiful, loving, witty, did I mention FABOULOUS?!!!!!

I call her Girl Chawn. We'll save that for another post, but for now we'll refer to her all week as either Chawn or Girl Chawn!  Chawn went on a weight loss journey and she thought it would be helpful to post photos of her delicious meals.  Well, guess who bought in?!!!  Yep, yours truly!  She got a spiralizer and began to make this GORGEOUS dishes.  I watched the weight melt off of her!

So, I decided I would get me a spiralizer!  I did!  It came in Saturday and I made my first dish.
I made Spiralized Zucchini with avacado pesto!  Here's the link:

Temptation Station...Don't Stop There!!!!

Hey sweet Sister! There's this place called Temptation Station that lurks around everyday on this journey.  DO NOT STOP THERE!!!  You'll regret the stop as the pounds jump right back on. We must stay strong and pray together so we can keep these temples God gave us strong!

Part of this journey/challenge is that we must stay strong!  I love my  "Crunchies."  Anything that is crunchy vies for my attention!  However,  there's always a substitute!  My favorite substitutes are as follows:

1..Instead of Chips....Cucumbers, radishes, or carrotts
2.  Instead of candy/sweets...Yogurt with fruit, a piece of fruit, or a baked apple..I'll get ya the recipe.
3.  Instead of Soda..Water!  I also drink lots of cranberry juice!!!

So I hope those help!  Whatever ya do run from Temptation Station!  I will work out again tomorrow.  I've got to go into work early to take care of some things.  This is no excuse but I wll get my 3 days in.

The Secret Sister Challenge!b 20 lbs Begin!!!


So, my secret sister from church sent me a card to encourage me and to say hey, if you loose weight I will.  IF anybody knows anything about me, it's that I am extremely competitive!  So, sweet secret sister,....Challenge Accepted!!!!  You and I are going to be the best looking chicks in church!  Our husbands are going to be walking around with their mouths wide open!!!!

Yesterday morning I woke and worked out via my app called Skimble!  Here's their website:  www.skimble.com.  I worked on my abs yesterday and lower body!  Tomorrow I will work on something different!  3 days a week, prayer, and determination this weight will come off!

The 1st thing to know is that staving hunger is the biggest part of this!  Well, the trick is to have 6 meals a day!  Yes, I said 6.  Here's how it works:

Start the morning with one 8 oz glass of water before your workout!  It gets your body to not feel full!
Eat a healthy breakfast...This morning here's what my breakfast looks like:

6:30 Am
Veggie omelet, spinach tomatoes, cheese and egg
A bananna
A cup of coffee (I just can't give up my one cup!)

At 930 I can have a snack...Probably will be water and a piece of fruit

1 pm my lunch time I'll have lunch

in between 1 and 530 I'll have one more snack or possibly even just stave the hunger away with water.

Dinner and then water to top it off and I'm done for the day.

So that's just a small example!  Oh and my wonderful boss led me onto these great meals by a company called Gardein.  They're expensive but look wonderful!  I'll have to check them out!!!  

Every time you want a soda, tea, or a sweet drink today...Sweet Secret Sister I challenge you to drink one glass of water!  If you're used to coke/soda make sure you have something like tylenol or excedrin (works best to me) to keep the headaches at  bay until you are free from those drinks!  You can do it!  

So, here's to us loosing weight, filling great and getting fit for God's Kingdom!  Challenge Accepted!

P.S.  Sweet Sister I know you can't respond to this blog bc you'll give yourself away but we'll write each other notes and leave them for each other at the secret sister table at church!

You gotta start somewhere

I awake, look at the clock...It's530.  It's time, time to make good on this promise I made mom and this time to stick with it now that I"m a mom.  I WILL NOT be factor of my family genetics.  I will take care of myself.  

Did I want to get up at 530 to go exercise.  NO.  Did I want to give up another 30 minutes of sleep?  NO.  Do I want to die early because I was too lazy to get up and get this body moving?  NOOOOOO.  So, I got up and put on my new workout outfit that my hubby got for me!  It's cute too!!!  

I grabbed my ipad and headed down stairs.  Hit the SKimble app symble and thus it began.  It's only a 15-20 minute workout but it's a start and each day I will get better!!!

This journey is about choices.  To workout or not.  To eat right or not.  To make excuses or not...
Like the slogan above says I can feel sore tomorrow or feel sorry..So today, I chose to feel sore tomorrow!  Thank God for alleve!  It will get better.   

The app I use is Skimble.  It's great!  It helped me the 1st time loose almost 40 lbs so I will continue using it!!!!  

Well part of this journey is eating right!!!  SO for Breakfast it's yogurt and a hard boiled egg.  Oh and coffee!!!  Yes there's a little sugar in my coffee but I only have 1 cup a day normally!!!!

So here's to better days ahead,  and knowing that in the end it will all be worth it!!!!  Time to finish breakfast and hit the shower!!!!  It's a Good Morning!!!!

My Why!!! Beyond 52



Well, I've decided it's high time to get back into shape!  So, I'm going on a weight loss journey to do just that!  It's time to shed the baby weight and the other extra lbs I"ve managed to gain back.

When anybody does something they must have a why.  Well my why is  kind of 3 fold:

1.  I promised mom that I'd take care of myself before she died
2.  I"m a mom and I want to be here for a long time to raise our sweet son
3.  I DO NOT want to be a statistic of my biological family's average age of 52.  Heart disease is where they've practically all died from.

I'll post on good days and bad.  I"ll post recipes, and resources I"m using!  Come along and journey with me!
